Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

1. Describe the goals and objectives of taekwondo 

  as a martial art

2. Appreciate the role of martial arts in physical 

 and emotional discipline

3. Demonstrate basic familiarity with the fundamental 

   stances of taekwondo

BENEFITS OF TAEKWONDO

Taekwondo is as much a way of life as it is a sport. Combining fitness, balance, coordination and speed with focus, discipline, precision, and respect. It offers a great cardiovascular workout with the added benefit that it may one day save your life through self-defence. It can be adopted at any stage in life with students ranging from 4 to 90 years of age. Individuals can work at their own pace and can climb the ranking system to grow from student to black belt instructor.

A. Practice the correct front position for a waking and sitting stance

B. Practice the proper weight distribution for a waking and sitting stance

C. Practice the mechanics of a front snap kick

2. Curriculum

A.Stretching

A.Warm-up exercises(25 minutes)

B.Core training (50 minutes):  Teach front snap kick
