What kind of workout is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Pilates is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises in the 1920s.
Health benefits of Pilates

THE PURPOSE OF PILATES
Pilates is a mind-body intervention that focuses on strength, core stability, flexibility, muscle control, posture and breathing. Many people participate in a pilates program for the following reasons:

The main goal of Pilates
is to strengthen the stomach, improve posture, stabilize and elongate the spine and develop balance and overall strength.
There are six key principles of Pilates:
